Now that the seeds have been ordered and received, it's time to figure out how many plants to grow this year.  We have a good sampling of new ones and will also grow a few old favorites.

  • New varieties to try this year:
    • Bhut Jolokia (aka Ghost Pepper or Naga Pepper)
    • Large Bhut Jolokia
    • Rooster Spur
    • Big Jim (not sure what these are, they were free with the order)
    • Flourecent Purple
    • Bolivian Rainbow
    • Atomic Starfish
    • Scotch Bonnet
  • Old faithfuls that we grow every year:
    • Thai Sun (great for indoors and small containers)
    • Tabasco (also good for containers - makes good hot sauce)
    • Hot Firecracker (good yield, great for drying to make pepper flakes)
    • Charleston (grows well in containers and produces a good crop)
    • Long Red Slim (these have been the free seeds for a number of years and remind me of a cayenne variety)

We'll grow at least one of every variety this year.
