Hot Peppers - Grow, Harvest, & Cook

This site contains everything you need to know about getting started with growing your own hot peppers.  We'll also provide information about what to do with all your peppers come harvest time - there are many ways to cook, process, and store your prize crop.

Coming Soon!

We are developing our own line of hot sauces.  We have perfected the first recipe and are now working with a local bottler to make this product commercially available.  If you would like to be notified when you are able to purchase the hot sauce, please sign up for our e-mail list.  We will not spam or sell your e-mail address and will only send availability notifications and the occasional newsletter.  Alternatively, you can follow us on Facebook and Twitter for updates.

Getting Started

The focus of the information will be on growing your peppers in containers, although many of the techniques described can also be applied to in-ground gardening.

One of the best things about pepper plants is that they are self pollenating.  This means that you can grow them indoors or on a screened patio area and they will still produce peppers.

Harvest & Cooking
As the plants are growing it's a good time to start getting your supplies ready for harvest time.  This part of our series will focus on the ways you can process and store peppers along with some great recipes for using your freshly picked ones.

What to Do Now

We finally have line of sight to spring, which means it's time to start your seeds indoors.  The seeds will take 8 - 12 weeks to be ready to put outside, so you will want to get started now.

If you don't have our seeds yet, get them ordered now so you have them in short order.  Then get them started and relax until it's time to plant them outside.

Company Info

We're located in sunny Florida, but spent a good amount of time in the Northeast and Seattle areas where we also grew our peppers.  The techniques are generally the same, but in cooler climates with shorter growing seasons you will need to pick some varieties with a shorter maturity period.
